Local general contractor Haydon has appointed Skyler Roussel as director of business development. Roussel, who joined Haydon in 2018 and previously served as project director, brings a deep-rooted passion for construction and community impact to his new role.
Roussel has been instrumental in key Haydon projects, notably contributing to successes like Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek and Gilbert Regional Park.
Coming from a large family of nine children, Roussel’s early experience in framing houses ignited his passion for hands-on work and community impact. He sees civil and commercial contracting as foundational to community development, providing essential infrastructure like water, sewer, gas, roads and buildings.
“At an early age, I found purpose in carpentry, knowing it contributed to creating homes for families,” Roussel reflected. “I wanted to be part of something even more impactful. Construction, often unseen by many, profoundly impacts millions daily.”
Roussel’s vision at Haydon involves expanding the company’s footprint while nurturing existing relationships and forging new ones. He values Haydon’s integrated approach, where business development intertwines with project execution.
“This role resonates deeply with Skyler,” noted Katie Haydon, president and CEO of Haydon. “His passion for people, problem-solving and innovative solutions is evident. Skyler’s commitment to finding the best-suited work aligns perfectly with our growth strategy.”
Outside of his professional endeavors, Roussel, who is married with three sons, pursues a passion for extreme sports, including snowboarding, skateboarding, boogie boarding, electronic longboarding and surfing. An avid outdoors enthusiast, he enjoys activities such as camping, hunting and hiking, alongside coaching football and indulging his interests in food and travel.
