Former Pinal County crime scene investigator reflects on his realty journey, Queen Creek family legacy

“I feel like Queen Creek as we speak today, and then even in the future, is and will be one of the most sought after areas to live in the Valley because of everything it has to offer. It’s a great place to live, it’s a great place to raise a family, it’s a great place for retirement, it's a great place for really anybody,” said Nate Knight, office manager of the ProSmart Realty Queen Creek office.

After working in Pinal County crime scene investigations for over 10 years, local resident Nate Knight has started a new chapter. He opened ProSmart Realty in Queen Creek last year.

“I think what sets us apart from other teams and offices is family and the small camaraderie that we all share,” said Knight, office manager of the ProSmart Realty Queen Creek office.

He began his real estate journey about four and a half years ago to take care of childcare costs.

The first fiscal year that he had his real-estate license Knight closed 56 deals – far higher than his original goal of 12. When he first started ProSmart Realty, there were only four agents on his team and zero in the office. Now, there’s eight agents on his team and 17 agents in the Queen Creek office.

“Even with the market shifting, we’re busier than we’ve ever been before. We’ve built such a sustainable business from the bottom up,” Knight said. “We do 100% every single time.”

He sees Queen Creek continuing to grow into the future. Although the town has seen more growth than anticipated, Knight sees the necessary infrastructure improvements keeping up.

“I feel like Queen Creek as we speak today, and then even in the future, is and will be one of the most sought after areas to live in the Valley because of everything it has to offer. It’s a great place to live, it’s a great place to raise a family, it’s a great place for retirement, it's a great place for really anybody,” Knight said.

Although he didn’t grow up in Queen Creek, Knight said he chose to open up shop in the town due to family ties.

“I have a deep family history in Queen Creek going back to the 1940s and 1950s, so I’m very biased and I love Queen Creek,” he explained. “I really wanted to carry on my family legacy in any way that I could.”

Knight’s grandfather, Darel Schnepf, owned and operated H20 Inc., which was purchased by the Town of Queen Creek in 2013. Knight’s great grandfather was the son of one of the pioneer families in the Queen Creek area who created Schnepf Farms.

“To be in a business to continue growing my real estate business, as well as helping other agents become successful, is what brings me happiness,” Knight said. “Helping others is one of my love languages, that’s what makes me happy.”
