Queen Creek kindergartners from Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary School recently attended "Shrek the Musical Jr." in person at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center.
For many Queen Creek Unified School District students, live shows like these will be the first theater performance they get to experience, according to district officials.
The kindergartners caught one of last performances of "Shrek the Musical Jr." as it ended its run in Queen Creek on Nov. 23. During the show, Shrek leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. It's part romance and part twisted fairy tale, an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.
The Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road, has "Cinderella" coming up next in its family series of shows, Feb. 11-14, 2022.
